Dong recruits local gas company in US venture

Half of Dong's US wind venture Bay State Wind has been sold to the US gas company Eversource, which with its 3.6 million customers could pave the way for the realization of the offshore wind project.

Dong Energy has entered a partnership with New England's largest utility Eversource Energy, which has bought 50 percent of Bay State Wind with the intention of developing the project in collaboration with Dong, the Danish company writes in a statement.

In April 2015, Dong secured the rights to a development project in an offshore area of 776 km2 off of Martha's Vineyard, which the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) put up for auction. This project bears the name Bay State Wind and Dong has now recruited local power to pitch in.
