Pressure mounts on Dong to lower returns after new defeat

Dong Energy is undoubtedly disappointed after losing a Dutch offshore wind tender which looked like it was headed for the Danish company, says one analyst, who thinks that pressure on Dong's requirements for returns is intensifying. Dong declines to be interviewed.

CEO of Dong Energy, Henrik Poulsen, received some disappointing news this Monday.

The company had lost the Dutch tender for two large offshore wind farms of a total 680 MW – the Borssele 3 and 4 farms. The Danish company had been pegged as a shoo-in for the tender.
