Disappointed Vattenfall "hair's breadth" from winning Dutch tender

The booming Swedish wind developer is disappointed to lose an offshore wind tender in the Netherlands, but not surprised that the winner was oil giant Shell. "The sheep are being sorted from the goats," says the wind CEO.

When it comes to offshore wind farm tenders, it is hardly consolation to be inches from the winning bid. Either you win, or you lose.

Nevertheless, Sweden's Vattenfall is thoroughly disappointed after bidding on the Dutch tender for the Borssele 3 and 4 farms totalling 680MW.
