Apple and Goldwind Unit agree to cooperate on wind power projects

Tech companies are striving to be powered by renewable energy sources. Google has already stated that all of its energy consumption will come from renewables next year, and now Apple has signed a deal with Goldwind for wind power projects.

Apple Inc. agreed to cooperate with China's biggest wind turbine maker Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co. on wind power projects.

Goldwind's wholly-owned wind-farm operating unit Beijing Tianrun New Energy Investment Co. will transfer a 30 percent stake each in four project companies to Apple, the turbine producer said in a statement to the Hong Kong stock exchange on Wednesday. Financial details weren't disclosed.
