Chinese companies vying to acquire Canada's Northland Power

Two major Chinese energy companies have allegedly bid on Canadian developer Northland Power, which recently announced that it is gambling on offshore farms in Taiwan.

In recent years, Canada's Northland Power has become a serious contender in the industry for constructing offshore wind farms.

The developer company has entered several European offshore wind projects, including the 600 MW Gemini project in the Netherlands. The Canadian company has also announced that it is gambling on offshore wind farms off of Taiwan, similar to recent announcements to bet heavily on Taiwan made by Denmark's Dong.
