Next year, Denmark will close its embassy in Bolivia's capital La Paz and the following year will see Danish development aid to the country discontinued after 25 years. However Denmark's departure from Bolivia will include a farewell gift in the form of three new wind farms with a combined 93 MW in the region Santa Cruz, informs the Bolivian Ministry of Energy.
Specifically, the development cooperation Danida Business Finance will provide a cash grant of DKK 366 million (EUR 49 million) to the project, while a loan will also be provided, so that the total Danish financing surpasses DKK 800 million (EUR 107 million), while the remaining investment needs for the project's full sum of DKK 1.3 billion will come from Bolivia's national utility ENDE.
