Gamesa lands first contract for its largest onshore turbines

Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa has landed its first order for the largest version of its largest turbines. On its largest market, of course,

Gamesa announced an order for 90 MW Wednesday morning.

This would normally mean that the Spanish company would deliver 45 turbines of 2 MW, 36 turbines of 2.5 MW, or maybe 27 of the company's G132 turbines. However, in this particular case, only 18 turbines will actually be installed, as the order is for the manufacturer's big version of 5 MW. This is Gamesa's first order for its largest version of the company's largest turbine with a rotor diameter of 132 meters.
