MHI Vestas has a new CEO. 55-year-old Tetsushi Mizuno from Japan has replaced his countryman Jin Kato as co-CEO of the Danish-Japanese wind turbine manufacturer. The latter will continue to be involved in the company in a consultancy role over the next six months.
However, the shift does not represent a total overhaul at the top of MHI Vestas. Denmark's Jens Tommerup thus remains in the post as the company's CEO, whereas the shift only concerns the position of co-CEO. Practically speaking, the Danish CEO is the company's actual Chief Executive Officer in the traditional sense.
However the new co-CEO, in his role as deputy general manager for business development at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries from 2009-2013, has been heavily involved in the establishment of the joint venture between MHI and Vestas, says the company in a press release.
