Vestas far off target despite record end run

Even though Vestas had never before announced as many megawatts on the year's consistently busiest day, Q4 closed as one of the poorest periods seen in seven years, with the 2021 combined order bounty roughly 4GW less than the preceding year.

During December, many of Vestas' employees around the world were able to look forward to having the day off on New Year's Eve. However, not all the OEM's staff had extra time to party in tinsel hats.

With announced orders totaling 1,085MW, Dec. 31 goes down in history as Vestas' busiest-ever end of the year. Even extending the final period to the whole Christmas holiday, 11 announced orders with a combined capacity of 1,334MW were in line with the preceding five years ever since the tradition of cramming in streams of deals up to New Year's was established – but to little avail, it seems.
