Shell buys stake in floating wind project

The oil company has signed a partnership deal entailing up to 1.35GW with developer Simply Blue Group concerning floating wind project Western Star.

Shell has purchased 51 percent interest in floating wind project Western Star in Irish waters under development by domestic company Simply Blue Group.

In a press statement, Shell informs that the two companies have now formed a joint venture to develop the project rated up to 1.35GW, with the first phase entailing 300-450MW to later be followed by 700-900MW.
