By purchasing 44MW of onshore wind in France, German power utility RWE continues to invest in the French market. Wind farm Les Nouvions' Nordex turbines are set for installation in the country's northern region of Hauts-de-France in 2022 and are projected to be generating electricity for French residents from 2023.
In October this year, RWE commissioned its first French onshore wind facility, Les Pierrots, with the modest capacity of 26.4MW. Two French developments with a combined capacity of 33MW are in the process of being built. Moreover, the utility has acquired a portfolio of French wind and solar projects totaling 1.9GW.
