Danish TSO takes next step in energy island preparations

TSO Energinet plans to this month map wind conditions in the areas that are to host Denmark's new energy islands.

Danish transmission system operator Energinet and Dutch company Fugro have signed a deal for the latter to set up four Seawatch wind LiDAR buoys in the areas hosting the two forthcoming energy islands in the North and Baltic Seas.

The new buoys will enter operation this month and, as a minimum, map the area's wind resources for one year.
