Eneos to acquire Japan Renewable Energy for EUR 1.5bn

Japan's largest refinery prepares to acquire the domestic solar and wind energy developer for JPY 200bn.

Eneos Holding has let the cat out of the bag, confirming the company wants to purchase Japan Renewable Energy, reports Reuters.

The sum Eneos will have to pay investment bank Goldman Sachs and Singaporean state fund GIC amounts to JPY 200bn (EUR 1.5bn). According to Reuters, the acquisition should be viewed as an extension of Eneos' efforts to switch from fossil to renewable energy.
