Scatec expands into Iraq with 525MW solar project

With a new contract in hand, Norway's Scatec will lead development of a 525MW solar farm in Iraq.

The Iraqi government has signed an agreement with a consortium led by Norwegian developer Scatec pertaining to construction of a 525MW photovoltaic facility in the governorates of Karbala and Babylon, reports Reuters.

According to Iraqi Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar, the deal is worth USD 500m.
