Vestas wins 240MW order in US

The turbine maker is poised to deliver 109 units to a repowering project.

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has won an order for 240MW from Vitol Wind in the US, the former announces Thursday.

The order is for a repowering project, in which Vestas will replace the existing units at wind farm Big Sky Wind with up to 104 V120-2.2MW turbines and another five V110-2.0MW machines calibrated for an effect of 2.2MW.
