German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has added a new 6MW onshore model to its portfolio, the OEM writes in a statement.

The new N163/6.X is able to generate up to 7 percent more electricity annually compared to the smaller 5MW platform, N163/5.X.

Nordex informs that the model can be adjusted to a wide range of operating modes customized to customer needs.

The machine is made to last around 25 years, but in certain cases the lifecycle can be extended to roughly 35 years.

Production of the new model is set to begin in early 2023, and the first supply contracts are already in place.
