Offshore firm to seize large share of floating wind market

Dutch company SBM Offshore plans to be involved in floating offshore wind projects of up to 2GW approaching 2030.

As Netherlands-based SBM Offshore presents its financials for the first half of 2021, the company announces a goal of seizing one third of the current floating wind market over the next decade.

According SBM Offshore, there is currently potential for developing at least 6GW in floating wind capacity up until 2030. But the Dutch firm also says it's likely that capacity will see marked growth in the years to come.
