Five months after announcing its upcoming offshore wind turbine, Vestas is headed for its first order. Following a tender, German utility ENBW has selected the Danish wind producer's V236-15MW offshore wind turbine as the preferred choice for German 900MW offshore wind farm He Dreiht.
When and if the order goes through, it will require a swift delivery of the wind turbine, which is expected to enter serial production in 2024. He Dreiht, an offshoot of the German tender in 2018, will need to be fully operational by the end of 2025. The plan is to start the installation of the 60 offshore wind turbines in Q2 2025.
