US opens next offshore wind auction

BOEM kicks off the coming eight-license auction for capacity estimated to exceed 7 GW offshore of New York and New Jersey.

Friday afternoon, the first step was taken toward starting the long-awaited expansion of offshore wind site New York Bight.

The federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management reveals the coming auction for eight license zones forecast to add a further 7 GW of offshore wind to the US east coast in waters off New Jersey and New York.
