RWE, Equinor target victory in battle for Norwegian offshore wind

The two energy majors and Norsk Hydro are to build offshore wind farms in the Norwegian North Sea.

Three new partners have joined up on an offer to Norwegian authorities to develop a large-scale offshore wind farm in the region Sørlige Nordsjø II.

This is one of the two main areas opened up by authorities for offshore wind development at the start of the year, when licensing rounds for Sørlige Nordsjø II and Utsira Nord launched on Jan. 1.
