Shaky transport and logistics hurt Vestas' earnings in first quarter

Not just Covid-19 but also bizarre parking and poor weather all put pressure on Vestas' earnings thus far this year. After booking an initial loss of more than EUR 50m, the OEM expects to achieve an approximate operating result of a billion euros.

Actual advantages coming from the pandemic are pretty much negligible. However, one small benefit caused by the pandemic and associated remote work is that many people have avoided waiting around at transit stations on gray winter mornings hoping for trains to arrive on time. Not to mention searching for luggage in airport terminals only to discover that the items were redirected to the Cape of Good Hope.

Matters are somewhat different in the case of Vestas.
