Ørsted drops major offshore wind market – again

"We don't have unlimited resources," says CFO on deprioritization of one of Europe's largest offshore wind markets, where Ørsted has opted out of the latest tender.

The list of prequalified bidders was filled with repeat contenders last month, when the French government initiated the country's latest offshore wind tender. Besides the winning team from the last tender, EDF and Enbridge, the field also included Iberdrola, Vattenfall, WPD, Shell, Engie, EDPR and Total.

One offshore wind developer was conspicuously absent, however: Ørsted.
