Ørsted gets engaged with Estonians to take Baltic offshore lead

Beyond a new MoU regarding the development of a gigawatt-scale project in Estonian waters, an application for a neighboring Latvian site is meant to clear the path for a new regional partnership.

For decades now, there's been a special bond between Denmark and the Baltic countries. Throughout the 1990s, the Scandinavian country was perhaps the most ardent proponent for getting the three countries accepted into the EU. Similarly, various arrangements including regional military cooperation have been place across the Baltic Sea.

Now offshore wind can be added to that list.
