Ørsted enters PPA in Texas

US steel maker Nucor has signed a long-term PPA with Ørsted to purchase electricity from Ørsted's onshore wind project Western Trail.

Ørsted has bagged another power purchase agreement. This time, US steel manufacturer Nucor will be buying electricity from wind farm Western Trail of 367 MW in Texas, the Danish utility writes.

"Western Trail will utilize Nucor steel, demonstrating our ability to develop multilateral supply chain relationships," says Ørsted SVP and Onshore Chief Commercial Officer Vishal Kapadia.
