Siemens Gamesa bags order for 6.6-GW units in Sweden

With financial assistance from former parent company, the turbine maker secures another order for its 5.X platform in Sweden.

Wind farm Hultema will soon be established near Motala, Southern Sweden, states Siemens Gamesa.

More than that, an order has now been placed for the relevant turbines, ensuring the contractor knows the width of the holes to be dug for foundations, which will be considerable: 11 of the wind turbine manufacturer's SG-5.8-155 model will be installed at a hub height of 107.5 meters. With a capacity of 73 MW, this means the units will be optimized to the currently highest possible effect of 6.6 MW.
