Energy alliance pushes more offshore wind in Norway

Several major Norwegian companies want to see faster progress within offshore wind in the country, pushing for subsidies for 500 MW by 2030.

An unlikely alliance aims to speed up Norwegian offshore wind efforts.

The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO), Equinor, Aker, Statkraft, Hafslund Eco as well as Eni and Hitecvision's Vårgrønn on Tuesday submitted a number of recommendations to the nation's Minister for Petroleum and Energy Tina Bru, advocating for major subsidies to manifest in 500 MW of floating offshore wind in the Utsira region before 2030.
