New German wind reform could impact expansion

An opportunity to reduce the size of coming energy auctions at short notice could deter bidders, researchers warn.

An addition to the latest German legislation on renewable energy could lead to fewer bids in coming auctions, reports Tagesspiegel Background.

Briefly put, this is due to the Federal Network Agency being allowed to scale back on the size of an auction two weeks before it's held, which might occur in case of there being too few bidders.
