Avangrid submits Kitty Hawk construction plan to BOEM

Iberdrola's US subsidiary expects to start installing the first 800 MW at the US' hitherto southernmost offshore wind project in 2024.

North Carolina has taken one further step toward becoming an offshore wind state. Now with a completed compulsory environmental impact statement (EIS) in hand, Avangrid has submitted its construction and operation plan (COP) for the development to the US' federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM).

According to plan, construction of the first 800 MW will begin in 2024, with the final aim being to achieve 2.5 GW.
