Amazon signs PPAs on 3.4 GW

With the largest European PPA on offshore wind sealed to date, Ørsted secures a large portion of the capital needed for its unsubsidized German tender bids. The US-based online retailer, however, also signs far larger agreements.

Europe's largest power purchase agreement for offshore wind output.

That's what Ørsted calls it Thursday at noon after entering a deal with Amazon, which signs on as an offtaker for 250 MW from the utility's forthcoming German offshore wind farm Borkum Riffgrund 3 for a ten-year period.
