The wind turbines at Scotland's biggest offshore wind farm will now be complemented by 114 distribution transformers made by Siemens Energy. With 1.075 GW in installed capacity, the facility will be Scotland's largest renewable energy source and is expected to deliver low-carbon power to around 1.3 million households, Siemens Energy informs in a statement.
"Siemens Energy worked closely together with us to develop a customized design transformer that perfectly fits our demands for an energy efficient solution with minimum footprint," writes Robert Slettenhaar, vice president, head of procurement and category management at MHI Vestas Offshore Wind.
