Vestas' gets approval for MHI Vestas takeover

With the EU Commission's approval in hand, the transaction is expected to fully close before the end of this year.

One month back, news emerged that three acronym letters would be erased from MHI Vestas' offshore wind turbines after the Danish OEM bought out joint its venture partner, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, for a price of EUR 709 million.

That deal has, however, been conditional upon formal legal permission from anti-trust authorities, and that approval is now secured, Vestas informs in a press statement.
