The cost of having a megawatt of wind energy installed and maintained in Lithuania is approximately EUR 1.23 million. At least, that's the price that Lithuanian utility Ignitis Group is paying Nordex for delivery of wind turbines, balance of plant as well as service and maintenance for a 15-year period at the 63-MW wind farm Mazeikiai. The total value of the EPC contract recently assigned to the German wind turbine manufacturer comes to EUR 77.5 million before taxes, writes Ignitis.

"The signed agreement is a very important step towards the implementation of Mažeikiai wind farm project and contribution towards the implementation of strategic goal of Ignitis Group to increase green production portfolio. In a little more than two years 14 wind turbines in this wind farm will produce green electricity with the total operational capacity of 63 MW," says Ignitis Renewables Chief Executive Aleksandr Spiridonov.
