Order surge has NKT upgrading

With an unprecedentedly large order book, the cable maker expects to land in the upper range of its full-year guidance and add more for next year.

Danish cable manufacturer NKT remains in deficit, delivering a third quarter loss of EUR 6.3 million and thereby adding to the year's total negative, which now comes to EUR 33.5 million.

Behind this result, though, operations have just barely landed in the black. Earnings before interest and taxes in the period July-September amounts to EUR 0.3 million, which is favorable news after an extended gloomy patch. The result comes after a considerable improvement in activity, with revenue at EUR 376.6 million being far above the latest quarters and sufficient to have the company announce a positive tightening of its full-year guidance.
