Shell steals exec from Ørsted

The utility's departing US Offshore Wind CEO takes up a key position at a major competitor on the market.

Thomas Brostrøm makes a switch from Ørsted to one of the utility's direct competitors. Going forward, the Danish company's US country lead and chief executive of offshore wind in the US of roughly five years will be part of Shell's division for renewable energy, New Energies, in a newly established position titled Senior Vice President Global Renewable Solutions, encompassing both the solar and wind businesses of the oil firm.

He brings a wealth of experience in this field which will be key as we look to grow our capacity for low carbon renewable power generation and meet the evolving needs of our energy customers," says Shell Executive Vice President of New Energies Elisabeth Brinton.
