Boris Johnson wants to boost British offshore wind

The British prime minister wants to allocate GBP 160 million to strengthen the offshore wind sector in the UK, and he also raises the 2030 capacity target for the technology from 30 to 40 GW.

Later today, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to make a speech for a Conservative Party conference in which he will announce an investment of GBP 160 million in ports and factories to help offshore wind flourish in Britain, The Times reports.

According to the media, Johnson intends to make the UK the "Saudi Arabia of wind".
