Wilhelmsen buys offshore wind service group with aims abroad

The Norwegian shipping company buys a quarter stake in a wind service operator with customers such as Ørsted and MHI Vestas and that has its eye on US and Asian markets.

Norwegian wind service operator Østensjø's offshore wind business, Edda Wind, is now getting a significant economic boost.

The company has entered an agreement with compatriot shipping company Wilhelmsen, which is initially taking over a 25-percent share of the service operator for an undisclosed price.
