Floating solar forms part of major offshore wind project

Shell and Eneco are planning to expand the newly won offshore wind project, Hollandse Kust Noord, with floating solar.

Dutch offshore wind project Hollandse Kust Noord, recently won by Shell and Eneco's CrossWind consortium, will also feature a bit of solar power.

Netherlands-based research organization TNO will work with the consortium to install a floating solar pilot project at the offshore wind site in 2025 – if successful in their plans, the photovoltaic add-on will be installed two years after Hollandse Kust Noord is planned to enter operation.
