New York State kicks off big offshore wind tender round

The state calls for project bids in a new public tender entailing up to 2.5 GW of offshore wind as well as 1.5 GW in onshore wind and solar power.

Recent years have witnessed a row of US states seriously start to see the potential of offshore wind, and several eastern seaboard states have already held tenders for massive offshore wind projects.

This also applies to New York State, which is now making yet another move toward expanding wind power at sea.
