It's now uncertain if blades will be made at Siemens Gamesa's factory in Aoiz, Spain, on Friday, the first of five forewarned strike days called by a labor committee over the coming three weeks. Furthermore, strikes are planned on Jul. 23 and 29 as well as Aug. 6 and 7, Spanish labor unions CCOO, UGT and ELA inform.
The strike will allow the 239 personnel to participate in a walkout of a more permanent character. On Jun. 30 news emerged that Siemens Gamesa is closing its factory for reasons of long-term competition as well as the plant's production of "small" wind turbine models.
