Siemens Gamesa can technically produce 20 MW turbines and 300-meter rotors

Although the blades of Siemens Gamesa's new 14 MW turbine with their 108 meters will be the world's longest, the manufacturer insists on building them whole, contrary to the rest of the industry. This benefits the bottom line, the company asserts.

Siemens Gamesa's new heavyweight is a lightweight. Considering that the offshore wind turbine with its 14-15 MW capacity stands to be the most potent wind turbine on the planet when it hits the market in 2024, that's probably a modified truth. Weighing 500 tons, its nacelle isn't something easily pushed aside when vacuuming the warehouse, either.

But as is well known, everything is relative, not least in the wind industry.
