Inspection authority warns of directive to wind farm after fatal accident

The Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority heralds an order to wind farm Tonstad after a Finnish worker died in January moving wind tower sections. The wind farm is criticized for not following safety plans.

Poor lighting and lacking supervision when moving wind turbine sections were contributing factors when Finnish national Jari Johannes Uimanieme, 47, died in a work-related accident by the Tonstad wind farm in Norway.

The country's Labor Inspection Authority concludes as much, warning of an incoming directive to the wind farm, in a report described by local newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad.
