Delays could lead to insolvent wind projects in Nordics

Corona-related delays on wind turbines could eat new wind projects in the Nordic region, in the worst case pulling the rug out from under them, according to PPA adviser to wind developers Mikkel Kring.

While Covid-19 has brought an already crisis-stricken oil sector to its knees, renewable energy has on several occasions been highlighted as a bright spot in the energy industry.

The International Energy Agency (IEA), for instance, assesses renewables to be the only type of energy to become more widespread in 2020 amid what Executive Director Fatih Birol called a historic shock to the entire energy industry.
