There's rarely much doubt about Eolus Vind's supplier preference when it launches its projects. Just as Vestas' equipment is deployed at the vast majority of the former's installed projects, the Danish manufacturer is also the dominant purveyor to the Swedish company's five wind farms under present construction: 408 of the 439 MW total are sourced from the Danish turbine maker.
However, in the case of Øyfjellet, whose installation will begin soon, it's a different story. For first time ever, Eolus has nominated Nordex to supply the project, which at 400 MW is the developer's largest installation thus far. The German producer will deliver 72 model N149/5.X machines, which thereby have an average rating of 5.55 MW.
