Partners give up on building Vineyard on time

A discouraging update from US authorities has project Vineyard Wind, to be established by CIP and Avangrid, giving up on valuable deadline.

The USA's first large-scale offshore wind farm won't enter operation in 2022. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Avangrid Renewables have given up on completing the first phase of Vineyard Wind within the planned timeframe, Vineyard informs in a statement.

"We have received updated information from the Department of Interior that indicates the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the Vineyard Wind I project will be published later than what was previously anticipated," says Vineyard Wind Chief Executive Lars Thaaning Pedersen.
