Last March, German wind OEM Nordex entered the 5 MW class of wind turbines with an update of its model N149/4.0-4.5. Now, nine and a half months later, the platform sees its first order. Swedish developer OX2 and private equity Ardian are switching from the latter type to the new N149/5.X platform for wind farm Åndberg in the province of Jämtland, Nordex announces.
"Technologically the N149/5.X is based on the N149/4.0-4.5 turbine type from the Delta4000 series. The N149/5.X can also be flexibly operated in different modes, depending on project requirements – and now in the 5+ MW power range too," says Chief Sales Officer Patxi Landa.
