Swedish developer surges off major asset sale

Five years ago, Swedish onshore wind developer Arise was on the verge of going belly-up, burdened by a major debt. Now most of its liabilities are paid off following the largest asset sale to date – a project with giant Siemens Gamesa wind turbines – and even greater things wait in store.

Swedish project developer Arise recently closed its hitherto-largest asset sale of a wind farm project located near the town of Halmstad. The 231 MW Skaftåsen facility, consisting of 6.6 MW Siemens Gamesa wind turbines, was sold to UK-based infrastructure and private equity investment firm Foresight Group for a price of EUR 25.5 million.
