Vestas will supply wind turbines to SE Blue Renewables' coming wind farm, Overgaard. The project, allocated in Denmark's first technology-neutral public tender, will consist of 16 machines of the model V126-3.45, to be delivered in optimized 3.6 MW versions. Beyond these 58 MW, the wind turbine maker has also received a 20-year AOM 5000 service contract, informs Vestas.

Counting the replacements of many existing wind turbines in the region near the town of Randers, Overgaard is the hitherto largest repowering order in the country. And it has the potential to become larger still – not least considering the fact that Overgaard is merely the first phase of the project. Meanwhile, Blue Renewables is scouring the market looking for ways to add the facility's remaining 42 MW. Vestas underscores its domestic market's potential for this kind of order.
