Ørsted orders 900 MW from Siemens Gamesa

The offshore wind turbine manufacturer has won a firm order from the developer's first Changhua projects in Taiwan.

Siemens Gamesa will supply wind turbines to Ørsted's Taiwanese projects, Changhua 1 and 2a. The energy company has now placed a firm and unconditional order with its customary supplier, which will deliver its SG 8.0-167 machines to the project, set to enter operation in 2021, informs Siemens Gamesa in a notice to the Spanish stock exchange.

It should hardly come as a huge surprise that Siemens Gamesa has received the order for the two offshore wind farms, as Ørsted already announced the nomination back in October. However, even though the final investment decision for the project was made in late April, the selection has not been completely settled before now.
