US-based energy infrastructure investor Clearway Energy Group has closed financing for the 419 MW wind farm Mesquite Star. The project, whose backers include Berkshire Hathaway Energy as a tax equity investor, will become one of the largest wind farms in the US' main wind power state, Texas, upon entering operation next year. Installation began last week, reports Clearway Energy in a statement.
This will keep Siemens Gamesa occupied. The manufacturer has won a contract to deliver 118 wind turbines to the project, while Blattner Energy will manage installation.
