Nordex forecasts manifold wind turbine installations

Despite installed capacity declining roughly 50 percent to merely 261 MW in this year's first quarter, the German wind turbine manufacturer is preparing to install and commission more than 4 GW this year.

The quiet before the storm. This has been a permeating tendency for the major wind turbine manufacturers' status in this year's quarter, and similarly to Siemens Gamesa and Vestas, this is also Nordex' message. Similarly to its competitors' recent announcements, the German company reveals a large US order seemingly to establish that busy days lay ahead.

At first glance, the first quarter was extraordinarily slow for Nordex. Then again, the sales division had plenty to do with new orders for 1,035 MW, but activity was lower on the factory floor, with only 261 MW in installed capacity – a decline of almost 50 percent relative to the same period last year, which ended with 2.5 GW.
